Identifying My Target Audience

My target audience is teenagers aged 14 to 19. My target audience is both males and females as both genders can be interested in the music my magazine is based around. The race of my target audience isn't relevant either they can come from any country and be of any ethnicity to listen to my magazines music genre. The age of my target audience is very relevant, and older or younger audience wouldn't fell the same way about the type of music my genre is presenting. Finally the social ........ of my target isn't relevant either, to listen to any music you do not need to be of some form of class therefore anyone of any class can enjoy the type of music my magazine presents. My target audience will be more aimed towards the "Individuals" and the "Aspirers". I picked Individuals because my magazines music genre isn't the most popular in England and/or the World, individuals find this attractive because they can attach themselves to it and make themselves fell more rebellious and individual because there aren't many people who are like them. I also picked Aspirers due to the fact a lot of the readers will be in bands of there own of play instruments and will aspire to be as good or as famous as those they read about.

The Top 40 Investigation

This is the current top 40 songs on the charts. Unfortunately the is only one song within it that come close to being similar to the type of genre my magazine is going to be. The current charts genre is predominantly indie and pop. My magazines genre being more in the direction of rock and metal. therefore from my investigation into the current chart i can confidently say that a high percentage of the population in England listen and prefer pop and indie music, but there is still an audience out there for my magazines genre but to find them I would have to investigate more into the Kerrang! Top 40.

Unique Selling Points

The unique selling points of my magazine are that it will attract both boys and girls, , it also will have actual bands within it that I am personal friends with, I have also not just spoke about bands and tours i have mentioned other things to do with music such as guitars, cabs and headstocks along with signature versions of guitars and tips to help musician progress. It is colourful therefore eye catching but I will stick to a main colour scheme therefore my magazine will look professional.
